Date night!

Dh and I finally had a date night last night!  It has been a couple of months since we went out on a date.  We got dressed up and saw Phantom of the Opera-- and my, my he did look so handsome!  I like to think that I cleaned up nicely as well, but since I didn't have to look at myself I'm not too concerned...

We had pretty good seats and had no problems seeing the stage.  For those who are vaguely familiar with Houston, the new Hobby Center is so much nicer than the old Jones Hall, which had felt like a dungeon!  I was a little disappointed that Raoul was being played by the understudy who had a good voice, but it wasn't very rich or strong... The Phantom and Christine had absolutely gorgeous voices!  Definitely a big thumbs up on that.  Dh really enjoyed it (although musicals and theatre are not normally up his alley-- he's more of a soccer and shorts and t-shirt kind of a guy).  He was disappointed in the orchestra not being loud enough as they seemed a bit muted last night.  It was the second time we've seen Phantom, the first being BK (before kids).

All in all, we had a great time just being together without our precious kiddos.  To top it all off, Dh was savvy enough to find a good parking spot that was not in the parking garage so we saved ourselves a good half hour of trying to leave the Hobby Center.  Have I mentioned how smart my dh is?  He is the best!  I'll try to post a pic of our evening out.  We forgot to take pictures but ran into a friend there who had a camera.

So, when was YOUR last date night?  I'd love to hear about it!

Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. My dh bought us Phantom tickets for our anniversary. We go September 3rd. Like your dh, these kinds of things aren't up his alley either but I'm glad he did it. I can't wait to go! We haven't had a true date since Valentine's day, I guess. Maybe I should plan one soon. Enjoyed reading your blog! ~Fay

Sounds like you had a lovely time! I read The Phantom a few months ago and really enjoyed the book myself.

Our last date night? Hmmm well to be honest, Micah at age 17 months has never been left, and Mitchal at age 4 has only been left twice...so it's been 'years'. lol

But I can say that it's what we feel is best for our family until the boys are older.

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself! You sound rejuvenated and woo'd. :)

We did sneak out for dessert when my inlaws were here a few weeks ago. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this December, I hope we can get a real date then. LOL! Glad y'all had a good time!

Date! What's that? Actually, we were supposed to have a lunch date today, but two of our boys got sick. It will be awhile for us! I am glad you had a great time!

Wow, it sounds like you and your dh had a wonderful night! I can't remember the last time my dh and I had a date night. It's been way too long.

Thanks for stopping by my blog :-) You asked about a song I posted "In Christ Alone". I've heard the song sung by lots of different groups. The version I have is sung by the Newsboys and its from their CD Adorarion: The Worship Album. According to the CD cover the words and music are by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. It really is a powerful song...I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

That sounds like a lovely date... How great it would be to see the Phantom of the Opera live... I just rented the new movie of it, and it was very good. But my hubby does *NOT* like musicals, and so I was on my own watching it, which is just as well, as I bawled through half of it I think!LOL! The last date we had was our anniversary back in March. We went to a fav. restaurant in Pigeon Forge, TN, and did the touristy thing all day... it was nice. But we need another one soooon! We usually like to just go places we can talk alot, without interruptions, like out to dinner... And then we'll often find ourselves browsing book stores together, or antique stores, and comparing finds.
