poo-poo

Today started off in a mighty and grand way!  Dozer (2yo) looked at me with his pale skin and bright blue eyes.  Then he just stood there.  His skin started blushing bright red underneath that glowing stack of yellow hair.  Ahhh...the first signs of going poo!  Yeeeeeeehaw.

An interesting thing then happened.  He ran to the potty and motioned for me to take off his diaper (strange how the boy who can fix his own cereal, as well as waffles in the toaster can't take off his own diaper...).  So I plopped him up on the porcelain throne.  He smiled, he strained, he tried to escape.  Then...he did it.  Plop.  Blop.  Smile.  SUCCESS!!!

We wiped, we flushed, we high-fived!  The big boys came running in to see what the celebration was all about.  My baby went poopy in the potty!  HOORAY!

I was smiling to myself as I thought about my little baby doing such a grown up thing. :-)  Just at that moment, little Dozer ran in to me crying.  Pointing.  Pointing into the living room.

I walked into the living room to find two little gifts from my littlest man.  Of the smelly variety.  I'm glad he squatted on the floor instead of on the carpet!  Yuppers, two fresh pieces of poop just waiting for mommy.  Still warm too.  Lovely thought, isn't it?

Oh well, I wasn't ready for him to be potty trained anyway.  I'm of the wait til he's 3 and then knock it out in a week mindset.  I guess I should also be thankful that 1.) he didn't hand me this special gift and that 2.) I didn't walk into the room wondering where in the world these little brown footsteps came from!!!

Yucky.

But it's worth it to be a mom, isn't it?  I just love my boys.  Clean, muddy or smelly, they're ALL MINE. :-)

Boys, yes aren’t they just wonderful!!! I have my own poop stories to blog about too, I might just have to do that some time LOL

The most recent was when my 2 yo stuck his hand in his diaper to "scratch" and ended up with a dirty hand and my boys do not like to get dirty! Well he started flinging his hand around to get "it" off and guess where it landed? Smack dap on Mama! Joy isnt it? :-)

It was tongue in cheek Marsha. The silly little thing did rush at me and they do destroy gardens.

I do hope you are taking a look at my blog posts for your favorites for my random drawing!

Thank you for keeping this post picture free- although the vivid description painted a lovely picture itself! Hee hee -

It's so exciting - and funny.

People say boys are so hard to potty train - our boy was easier than the 2 girls. Could've been cause he was 3rd.

Oh, those are the days... I remember when Rachel was little, I was at work, and Tracy was home with the kids. He was trying to fix something, and when he looked around, Rachel was chewing on something. he ran over to see what was in her mouth... POO!!! Blech. I am SO GLAD I was at work that day!

BTW, thanks for the vote! :-D I really appreciate it.

Hope you have a great week!

Love,

Amy Beth

LOL!! This is TOO funny!!! Oh, the joys of potty training boys! I remember it well. I'm so glad you have such an easy going mind set about it. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely be more easy going and not let those around me (grandparents!!) put the pressure on to potty train!! Geesh! After all, who ever saw a 12 year old still in a diaper! They learn!! Take care and have a wonderful week! Hope you get more "gifts" in the potty and not the floor! LOLOL

I have been potty training also this week....sigh....it is hard work!

I love eggplant, and my favorite way is to slice it thin, layer it with spaghetti sauce and cheese and bake until bubbly! Yum!

LOL I hear boys are a different breed of animal when it comes to PT. That was such a frustration for me because all the *friendly* advice I was getting was from those that had girls. I didn't get to talk to any boy PT'ed moms until AFTER the deed was done. ::sigh:: I wish I had because I'm sure it would have saved a bunch of frustration on my part.

When we finally put it off until around 3 it took maybe 2 or 3 days and that was it.
