imperfect pictures

Sometimes the best pictures are the ones that aren't quite "perfect"...

Food in mouth,
not looking at the camera,
looking for mommy,
smiling grandma
trying to wiggle away,
extremely bored
and not happy to be here...

REAL LIFE.

That's why I love it so much!

I challenge y'all to look back through your old photos.
I bet you find at least one that, although the moment might have been crazy and the outcome disappointing, it captured real life and the genuine dynamics and personalities of that time.

Do you find that you love it a little more than you did before?

We have a picture with Mattias in a stroller where he is shaking something. Now, of course, I love all the pictures of him and I'd be hard pressed to choose an actual photo, but it is one of few that we have where he is engrossed in an activity. And as it so often goes with toddlers, it was something as simple as shaking something. A bottle? I don't know. But he's intent.

I love the picture! One of my mom's favorite pictures of me is one at 2 where I'm red-eyed and scowling at the photographer, clutching the stuffed animal that they tried to take away from me. I definitely love the real life photos better than the angelically posed ones.

That picture definitely captures the "real life" of those kids and Halmerny. HA! Chaotic...but fun, for sure! Love you!

That is a great picture! I got one recently of the kids with their grandma. We were trying to be ambitious and have all the grandkids in the photo...one is yelling, one is trying to run away...grandma is laughing. It is a great picture. Real life to be remembered.
