My son's best idea on how to help the hurricane victims

I was just talking to my 6yo about the hurricane victims.  I asked him to think about the best way we can help these people.

My smart, sweet son looked at me and said, "Mommy, we can pray for these people.  And we can also ask God to save them.  That's what we can do."

Otherwise complicated situations are so simplified by children.  They think a lot more clearly than we do, don't they?

Thank you for your prayers. Your son is so right!

We have thousands of refugees in our town, even though we were also hit by Hurricane Katrina. We are going to recover much more quickly than them - slowly our power is turning on, and water and phones are being restored. So we have the opportunity to help others now.

If your son or anyone reading this wants to send anything to the children that we are housing, visit my blog for my mailing address.
