Meeeee? Weird???

At least I don't air-type like Teresa!  Some people air-guitar, she air-types.  Yup, she is certifiably strange...kinda like when Tetris came out and I was all obsessed with getting things to fit nicely with each other.  I'd see a skyline and imagine how the buildings need to flip and rotate to fit perfectly with each other...or I could see the blocks in my sleep or even when I was driving.  Talk about scary!

Anyhoo, Teresa's post got me thinking about how I may think I'm a normal weird person but maybe I'm really an abnormally weird person like JenIG.  I don't think I can come up with five weird things at the moment (although I'm sure if dh were here he could come up with five hundred) but here are just a few weird/strange/annoying habits I have:

1.  I have to have things even.  If I'm walking up the stairs, my feet have to alternate steps equally and evenly.  I cannot feel like I'm putting more pressure on one foot than the other.  Same with walking on a sidewalk with the lines across.  I can't only hit the line with one foot but must alternate accordingly.  This makes for some odd feet shuffling at times!

2.  I flip through magazines backwards.  I thought dh was a freak when I first saw him do this...but lo and behold 10 years later, I am doing the same thing.  Pick up a magazine and open up the last page.  Then work my way from back to front.

3.  I like to clean.  Especially other people's houses.  So long as it's because I want to and not for money.

4.  I don't shave my legs.  Nope, I'm not a sasquatch, porcupine legs or anything like that-- just asian and not a hairy person in general.  My boys don't have hair on their heads and I don't have it on my limbs or lip (or eyebrows but that's another story!).

5.  I'm double jointed at my elbows and (I think) wrists.  So when I sit down and lean on my hand, the inside of my elbow bends out.  You can also twist my arm pretty far and it doesn't hurt a bit.

Okay, so it didn't take me long to come up with five!  I could probably add a lot more but don't want to add any more fuel to the Marsha's-a-complete-nutjob fire.  Feel free to add of your own wonkyness in the comments section or if you post it on your own blog, please let me know so I don't feel so alone!

Just joking:) I wanted to thank you for commenting on my blog about my recent loss. I was blessed. Thanks!

On another note...I have wierd quirks too.... One of them is, I have to cross my big toe over the one beside it. If my shoes do not allow for me to do this, then I just can't wear them. Another one is when I walk I always count to 8....due to all the years of dance and teaching aerobics... So if like I am walking down the hall, I just count it out...and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...and 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7 8... I guess we are both wierd!! So nice to know I am not alone.

I am right there with ya on numbers 1-3. It's so funny how I have to have everything even, too!! I'll have to post the wierd things I do. I'll let you know when.

I found myself chuckling when you mentioned that you like to clean. I'm a lover of cleaning. I even purchase pink and blue rubber gloves. My mother thinks I'm crazy. My husband and son have learned to live with it.

Yep, you're pretty weird, too! LOL Sometimes I get hung up on stepping the correct way. For me it's in stores where there are colored tiles that alternate colors. Sometimes I get it in my head that I have to step on a particular color. Of course it doesn't help when my kids tell me to step on the white squares because I'll die if I step on the black ones (or vice versa). LOL Wonder where they get their weirdness from? hehehe

That was funny about the tetris thing. Envisioning the skyscrapers cracked me up! Thanks for playing along!

I also look at magazins backwards. Not all the time but a lot. I can take the pinky toe on my right foot and with out using hands maneuver it to cross the toe next to it. Maybe it's some weird double jointed thing. I do weird things when I zone out, which is a lot. I make patterns with my eyes. Hard to explain but I look at geometric shapes around my environment (windows, doors etc) and then my eyes make patterns with it, like crossing it, up down, up down, then across, then around. Oh, a pained window makes for a really fun time. There many patterns in that to follow. I know, very strange. I probably shouldn't have admitted that. Only a few people know and now I've gone and published it. Dumb!

Well, Marsha, I can relate to most of what you put down except being naturally hairless and cleaning other peoples places. By the way, you can come over anytime and give my family a break!

lol! My dh has to step evenly and all those things! He chews evenly on both sides of his mouth, and if he has five pieces of candy, he will eat two on each side of his mouth and break the last one in half and divide it. He drives me CRAZY with this stuff! But it's REEEALLY funny.

Great weird answers. At least I'm not the only weirdo out there. ;o)

You sound normal to me. I like things to be even and geometrical. I do not like abstract. When I'm in a car I will tick off the reflector posts with my tongue or lips. I also use my eyes to swoop down the power lines and back up at each pole. I don't like stepping on cracks. There is nothing superstitious about it and I will force myself to step on a crack every now and then to prove it but it feels all wrong.

Blessings!

Oh, the Tetris thing is so funny...I did that too. My dorm room was directly across the Hudson River from NYC...believe me, staring out the window at the NYC skyline could really distract one from one's studies! "Let's see...the 'T' can fit there, and then the 'Z,' if you flip it, and then..." AAARGH!

I don't know if you ever watch TV, but there is a saying now that if you're obsessive compulsive your Monkish because of a show called Monk where the main character is obsessive compulsive. (How's that for a run-on sentence?)

I'm strange, too.

1. I like to read magazine backwards

2. I wash my hands constantly. If I use a public bathroom I never touch the door knob without a paper towel.

3. I have to do chores in a certain order.

4. If I start something I have to finish it.

5. If I sit in the jacuzzi bathtub I have to take a shower afterwards. Ick.

6. I won't eat raspberries -- too many seeds in my teeth.

7. I have to clean my glasses before I put them on my face.

8. I am responding to a stranger's strange blog with my own strangeness.

Okay... I'd just like to say that I don't think you're weird at all... I mean, sweetie, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE feel free to come and clean my house... I'll let ya! I don't think that's weird (rolling eyes in the back of my head)... no really... I don't think that's weird at all...

and how 'bout that stair thing... I'm not sure I would've shared that... a;lskdfj;asldjf;asdlkfj

Love ya,

Too embarrassed to begin a list so I'll have to contemplate it more to see if I want the world to know such oddities,

LOL...It's fun to see how many people do that sidewalk thing! When it comes to the stiars, I have to go up on the right side and down on the left...everyone else in the family goes up and down right in the middle. Ok, want to know why...because I figure they are all going up and down the middle, and I don't want the carpet to wear out in the middle before we have to move and replace it, so I go up and down on the sides to even out the wear. It's these little "weird" (but not really) things that make us all so different and interesting.

I guess I wouldn't feel bad if you came up and helped me clean my neglected pig sty. Why oh why do we have the same genes and you actually enjoy cleaning and I don't? Hmmmmm.... go figure.

Love ya sis.
