Are you from Texas?

With all the hullabaloo about the FPEA and a brunch with a bunch of bloggers, I'd like to know who around here is from good ole Texas!

First, if you're NOT from Texas, then I'm sorry.  But would you please consider linking to this post on your blog so I can get as accurate a rollcall as possible...especially considering the considerations of this non-scientific poll!  I greatly appreciate yer kindness and cooperation!

Now fer you fellow Texans, if you would be so kind please comment and put your city in the subject line.  It would be fun to organize a get together or shindig or whatnot in our neck of the woods!

By the way, I live in NE Houston (Porter).

Leave that comment now, y'hear?!  And don't forget to pass this on!!!

Howdy, a big hi from down south outside San Antonio Texas, I just joined a few days ago havent seen many Texans so far good to see one now :)

We go up towards Houston every once in a blue moon to go to the Space Center Homeschool day in Feb I think is when they have it. That would be an awesome time to meet maybe? San Antonio also has Sea World Homeschool day I think the next one is one day after my Bday which is Sept 28.

Talk to you soon adding you to my friends list.

Does that count?! We visit one of the churches that supports us every month several times a year in Sugarland. And our good friends live in Houston. I have a friend I've known since gradeschool who lives just outside San Antonio and other friends of friends who live in McKinney. Matter of fact, I'll be there in August... Can't I be in your club? :)

I live in hot, humid North Carolina amidst southern drawls, is that close enough to being like a Texan. Plus, I love TEXAS....everyone seems so happy there and POLITE! Have I schmoozed myself into being an un-official Texan! A get together sounds like great fun!

Okay, not really, 'cause it's a fictional town, but if it was real, that's where I'd be living. (If you have no clue what I'm talking about, check out www.greatertuna.com)

I can't really say my town's name because of the witness protection program and all that, so let's just say I live about 45 minutes from Ft. Worth.

We would have loved to have lived in Texas!! Sadly we live in S. California where home prices have soared! While looking for our current home a few months ago, we saw an ad for a 751 sqft home on a 2500sqft plot of land in a bad area near LA with bars on the door and no garage or carport that sold for $480,000! About a week before that we saw a magazine ad for a beautiful home in Texas: 3600 sqft on a large plot of land with a big garage and it even had a turret (looked like a castle!) for about $200,000!! : (

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a message. I have several friends from my home school group that have blogs on here. I can let them know about your roll call, of course their all from here in East Texas. If we get them most votes does that mean the shin dig gets to be near us? J/K

*sigh* If not, my step kids live in Sugarland so I may be I could try to make it if it was more near you.

Until then, A big HOWDY from East Texas!

Hi, Marsha! I *loved* living in Texas, even if it was in Midland (ie the surface of the moon) one time! The people are so friendly and everyone loves being a Texan. We lived in Austin, too, for awhile. Much prettier! So anyway, now we're back in steamy Florida but with lots of trees, and the beach, so I'll try not to complain . . .too much!

If I were in Texas, I'd come to your get together! And hey, thanks for the comments on my blog! I find the time to do it by a) staying up til 1 am , b) not making lunch for the children, and c) letting my laundry pile up. If you want any help, let me know! LOL

Love, Misty

We aren't from Texas, but we sure talk about moving there often enough. it's a neat country. I mean, state!

We live in a small town between Tyler and Athens, Texas in Henderson County. It's nice to see so many folks from Texas!

I'm part of the East Texas crew! We are crazy and fun-loving, and I think I smell a roadtrip!

Your site looks sweet. How I will ever read your thousands of posts is beyond me! But you sound like a great mom.

I've added you blog to one of my favorites. I'm a new homeschool Mom to my youngest child who is 5. I've still got my oldest in public school but we'll see if that changes after this year. Wanted to get my feet wet first. There is so much information out there it's a little over whelming.

Can't wait to hear more about the get together though, sounds like fun!

Hi. Thanks for posting on my blog and inviting me to do the same on yours. I would love to have a Texas HS get-together. It would be neat to see how many families we have here in Tx who are hs'ing, and the different areas of Tx that we all come from. Seems like from the posts so far, most of us are coming from East Tx and South-West Tx. I am enjoying reading your blog posts, they are humorous and uplifting! The pics of your boys are very cute. You are a good lookin' family. :)
